Why Is Extraction Necessary

Posted on 8/22/2022 by Water's Edge Dental
Why Is Extraction NecessaryThe purpose of tooth extraction is to remove a problematic tooth, a tooth that cannot be saved due to its position in the mouth, or a tooth that must be removed to make room for another type of treatment, such as orthodontics. Administer some local anesthetic to numb the tooth and the tissues surrounding it. This is appropriate for a tooth that has erupted naturally.
The removal of an impacted tooth could be beneficial. When a tooth cannot come out because it is barred from doing so or because the gums did not completely erupt around it, this condition is known as an impacted tooth.

When it comes to wisdom teeth, this is often the case. Your dentist may advise that you have the damaged tooth removed to protect the health of your other teeth from the potential damage it might cause.

Extraction is necessary Under Specific Circumstances

Tooth extraction may be required if there is excessive dental decay, an infection of a tooth, or excessive crowding of the teeth. People who obtain braces could need the removal of one or two teeth to provide space for their other teeth as they shift into position.
