Emergency Dentistry

Posted on 6/6/2022 by Water's Edge Dental
Emergency DentistryMany people have regular dental checkups from their dentists or have scheduled treatments and procedures. However, some people have surprise visits to the dentists, and these unexpected visits to the dentists are relatively routine. Several reasons can cause a person to have unexpected visits to the dentist.

Bleeding

Extreme and severe bleeding of gums may drive emergency dental care. Patients who have continuous cuts in their mouth from taking certain foods or are involved in an accident require emergency dentistry as soon as possible. The dentist can help them halt the bleeding before other measures are undertaken. Also, people suffering from gingivitis which makes them have severe bleeding, should seek medical attention if the symptoms get out of control.

Extreme pain

The leading cause of pain in the mouth is cavity infections triggered by the intake of food and drinks that causes sharp pain in the mouth. The pain is a result of root exposure and may cause infections. To avoid further complications, one should seek emergency dentistry.

Abscess

These infections affect the mouth, especially near the root of a tooth or in between the space of teeth and gums; when untreated, the infections can spread to the surrounding teeth and gums and the rest of the body. They also contribute to the emergency seeking of a dentist.

Toothache

Severe pain in the teeth or gums is undoubtedly not a good sign of healthy teeth or gums. Showing severe toothache conditions, which may include tooth decay or infections, necessitate an immediate health care treatment. Some toothaches can be managed without dental emergency treatment, but swelling needs urgent attention for some.

Lost filling or crown

.
Fillings and crowns restore the natural appearance and optimal function of previously damaged or decayed teeth. When they break, they require dental emergencies, and this requires treatment to avert any further damage or infection.

We are well-versed at our offices dealing with unanticipated emergencies as our dentists are well trained and experienced in handling such occasional incidents. Call now and schedule an immediate dentistry procedure.
