We Can Help with Restorative Dentistry

Posted on 9/15/2018 by Water's Edge Dental
We Can Help with Restorative DentistryAsk any of our staff and we'll all agree; the most cost effective and easy way to keep your smile looking its best is preventative care.

However, even if you find yourself in a position where your teeth have been damaged or have decay, there are so many restorative dentistry options available to you. We are here to help!

Types of Restorative Dentistry

•  Fillings. The most common type of restorative dentistry is of course dental fillings. Used to repair and replace decay due to cavities, these last for many years and will help you keep an intact tooth free from decay.
•  Crowns. Crowns are used to repair the tooth that has been damaged, cracked or decayed beyond what a simple filling can repair. It's basically a tooth shaped cap that we will place over your existing tooth. We work hard to ensure that the crown matches with the size and color of your other teeth so that your smile maintains a natural appearance.
•  Veneers. These are used not only for improving the appearance of your teeth, but also restoration if you have chipped, crooked, broken or misshapen teeth. These porcelain shells are bonded directly to your teeth by our professional staff and can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile.
•  Dental Bonding. Dental bonding, also called composite bonding is a very effective way to treat cosmetic problems such as chipped, cracked or discolored teeth. This is a chemical bonded composite material that is applied directly to your tooth and unlike treatment with crowns and veneers, we generally do not remove any of your original tooth.
•  Dentures/Implants/Bridges. Missing a tooth or several in your smile can be repaired by these three types of restorative dentistry. Dentures and bridges are custom made to fit your gums and remaining teeth and can be removed for cleaning and care. Implants are more permanent due to the fact that a metal screw takes the place of your root and a new tooth is anchored.

Whatever your need is, cosmetic or restorative, we have so many options available and our friendly staff will be happy to schedule an appointment and discuss your options with you.
