If you want nice, clean, fresh breath, but there isn't a mouthwash or toothbrush in sight, what should you do? The best thing you can do is grab a piece of food. Now, knowing which food is going to help the most can go a long way towards battling back that nasty breath from your last meal.
Here are a few foods to look for when your breath needs a pick me up. Hopefully, you can find one at the table before leaving your next meal. Foods That Quickly Freshen Your BreathDid you have a bit of parsley on the side of your plate? If so, chew it up quick. You don't even have to swallow it. It can cut through most crazy smells, including garlic! It's a quick pick me up that's handy at most restaurants. What about lemon, was there any in your water? Lemons are great when it comes to ridding your mouth of foul odors. You can drink the lemon water, suck on the wedge, or even chew on a tiny piece of the peel. They all work! Apples are also a great way to reduce bad breath germs. Take the time to walk back to work (or home) after your meal while enjoying an apple, and your bad breath will be gone by the time you get there. Yogurt can go a long way towards fighting off bad breath germs, too. It is important you know what foods to help with, as they can also be built into your meal. If you're out at a restaurant, why not order a yogurt parfait for dessert so that you can get the benefit built in? Talk to your dentist about what other options they suggest. Then, make sure you keep an eye out for those items whenever you're out for a meal. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (208) 391-8554 today. |
